World ParaVolley are excited to launch a renewed call for applications from organisations interested in hosting official WPV workforce development courses under an updated host appointment procedure.
These courses represent a vital step in building local and regional expertise while showcasing a commitment to inclusive sport. Hosting a WPV practical course can support the growth of the sport’s professional community and helps develop a sustainable infrastructure for excellence at all levels.
Empowering the Global Workforce
World ParaVolley offers courses across several key areas of sport development and operations, including:
- Coaching
- Classification
- Refereeing
- Technical Officiating
Each course is tailored to train and certify individuals to a range of standards, enhancing national and regional capacity to deliver high-quality ParaVolley events and programs. While most current courses are focused on sitting volleyball, interest in other ParaVolley disciplines is also welcomed and encouraged.
WPV personnel and appointed Tutors are engaged to support all educational and quality assurance aspects of the delivery. Courses can include online learning, in-person components, or a mixture of both.
These courses reinforce the commitment to supporting the growth of sitting volleyball across all zones.
Organisations are now invited to express their interest in hosting the practical courses. Hosting a WPV course is a unique opportunity to:
- Build workforce capacity across sport roles
- Provide internationally constructed professional development for coaches, classifiers, referees, and officials
- Establish a pipeline of qualified personnel for future competitions and activities
- Promote inclusive and accessible sport in your community
- Raises the profile of Sitting Volleyball and other disciplines
- Enables networking by hosting similar minded sports personnel from around the world
- Profiles your country/region within the ParaVolley community and strengthens ties with WPV
Host organisations are expected to manage course logistics, manage course finances, promote the course and coordinate closely with WPV to ensure a successful experience for all participants.
Who Can Apply
National Paralympic Committees, National Federations, and other recognised sporting bodies are invited to express their interest in hosting a WPV course. While WPV membership is beneficial, non-member organisations may also apply where there is potential for strategic development impact.
Appointed hosts will receive support from World ParaVolley, including:
- Official programme schedule and material
- Appointment of certified tutors and educators
- Bespoke course promotion materials
- Guidance on operational planning
- Support during course delivery
- Post-course evaluation
Application Process
Applications to host a WPV course must be submitted at least four months prior to the preferred course start date using the official Course Hosting Application Form, which is also available on the Education page of the WPV website.
