IPC Presidency – End of an era, and a new one begins

Sir Philip Craven – 16 years as IPC President

World ParaVolley wishes to acknowledge the enormous contribution Sir Philip Craven has made to the Paralympic Movement after 16 years at the helm as President.  The current IPC is so different to the IPC of 2001 that it is almost as if it were a different organisation – this degree of change has been achieved with Sir Philip’s great leadership and the efforts of the Governing Board and IPC staff.  We wish Sir Philip all the best for the future and thank him for his dedication and wonderful achievements for the athletes of the world with an impairment.  It is the end of an era and a new one begins.

Andrew Parsons – New IPC President

World ParaVolley would like to congratulate the new President of the IPC, Andrew Parsons (BRA), the new Vice-President, Duane Kale (NZL) and the 10 Governing Board Members who were recently elected at the General Assembly in Abu Dhabi.

“The Governing Board Members represent a balance of interests, experience and locations such as IFs, a Zonal Paralympic Committee, NPCs and all continents,” said World ParaVolley President Barry Couzner, adding “This diversity will prove to be very beneficial for the Paralympic movement over the next four years.”
