Seventeen coaches from across thirteen nations have successfully achieved their World ParaVolley Level 2 coaching qualification after completing an intensive 3 day practical in Kigali (Rwanda), marking a major milestone in the continued evolution of performance coaching in sitting volleyball.
The programme brought together participants from Rwanda, Algeria, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Iran, Senegal, Benin, Togo, Mozambique, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and South Africa — showcasing the global reach and diversity of those committing to the newly established World ParaVolley coaching pathway.

The Level 2 qualification equips coaches with advanced skills to enhance athlete performance and contribute to the long-term development of sport within their respective countries and regions. Following an extensive e-learning (Part A), coaches engaged in a blend of theory, practical application (Part B) and peer collaboration sessions, all aimed at deepening their understanding of coaching principles, athlete development, and leadership in sport.
This Level 2 practical course was delivered under the hosting expertise of Rwanda NPC, as part of its ongoing commitment to raising coaching standards and fostering international cooperation in sport development.
Matt Rogers, WPV Coaches Commission Team Leader, expressed his delight the newly qualified Level 2 coaches, saying:
“All on this Level 2 course demonstrated exceptional commitment, teamwork, and passion for coaching. Their success represents not only their personal achievement but also the collective progress of coaching within Africa. We’re proud to see such diversity and enthusiasm driving the next generation of coaching excellence. A special mention goes to the six female coaches who completed the course and are now the only WPV Level 2 coaches in the world!”

The course was expertly tutored by Hadi Rezaei and Dr. Mosaad Elaiuty, who both guided the coaches through all of the sessions and learning objectives offering their perspectives and guidance. Hadi reflected that
“I am deeply grateful to World ParaVolley for creating this valuable opportunity to be together with Dr. Mosaad and such an inspiring group of coaches. Sharing our experiences and learning from one another made this course truly special.
I believe that with more courses like this, sitting volleyball will continue to grow stronger, more advanced, and even more beautiful day by day. My sincere thanks to everyone who made it possible.”
With their new Level 2 qualifications, these 17 coaches are now better equipped to inspire, mentor, and develop athletes at national and international levels — strengthening the foundation for future sporting success across their nations. Participants praised the collaborative environment of the course, noting the opportunity to exchange experiences and approaches with peers from different cultural and sporting contexts.
