Rafał Wojtowicz: The Dual-code Dynamo

In sports, versatility often marks the line between the good and the great. Meet Rafał Wojtowicz, an athlete from Poland whose passion for paravolley transcends boundaries – both physical and disciplinary.

At just 14, he began playing sitting volleyball, a discipline that would become his calling. Today, he stands or sits as a formidable force in both beach paravolley and sitting volleyball.

“I have been playing sitting volleyball for a loong time. I started when I was about 14 years old,” Wojtowicz reflecting on the countless hours spent honing his craft on the court.

For him, sitting volleyball is not merely a game, it’s a way of life, a passion that fuels his every move. And representing Poland is a matter of pride for Wojtowicz.

“Sitting volleyball is my life, and I love Poland. I love representing my country through my sport,” he declared.

His dedication to the red and white colour is evident in every match he plays and is a testament to his commitment to bring Poland to new heights in the sport.

But Wojtowicz journey doesn’t end with sitting volleyball. His love for the game extends to the sand courts of beach paravolley, where he finds himself standing tall among his peers.

Reflecting on past victories, he recalls the thrill of competing in Pingtan, China, where his team clinched a silver medal.

“It was a very big tournament,” he reminisced. “I hope I can do the same in Chongqing this year, with the same teammates. I look forward to that, and I feel that event will be even more special.”

When asked if he harbours a preference between the two paravolley disciplines, Wojtowicz offered a humble response.

“Every kind of volleyball is my favourite and will always be close to my heart,” he said, emphasising the deep-rooted love for the sport in all its forms.
