It is with mixed emotions that we announce the resignation of Stephen Giugni OAM as Sports Director of World ParaVolley. Stephen informed the Board that, due to a significantly expanded work role, he is no longer able to dedicate the time required to fulfill the demanding responsibilities of Sports Director.

Following this news, the Board immediately began evaluating potential candidates to fill this critical position. During the meeting held on 4 November 2025, the Board confirmed Batyr Kadyrbaiuly of Kazakhstan as the new Sports Director, effective immediately.

Stephen remains deeply committed to WPV’s mission and will continue to support the organization, which is wonderful. With Batyr, we have a highly qualified successor, and Stephen and Batyr have already begun the handover process.”
