
The 2025 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Cup will bring a strong and diverse international field to Fort Wayne, Indiana, from 12 to 18 October, with 14 men’s teams and six women’s teams now confirmed for the event, which will be held in the United States for the first time.
The men’s tournament will feature Australia, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, France, India, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Poland, Thailand and hosts USA, with Algeria’s participation still to be finalised. The line-up blends established powers with emerging programmes and promises fans a varied showcase of styles and rivalries throughout the week.
Several of these teams return from the last World Cup in Cairo in 2023, including Algeria, Brazil, Egypt, France, India and Japan. In Cairo, Iran, Egypt and Germany won the medals. Australia, Canada, Croatia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Poland, Thailand and USA are new to this edition.
The women’s competition will include Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and USA. Brazil, Canada, Germany and Netherlands also played in Cairo, where China, Canada and Brazil took the podium. Italy make their World Cup debut, while USA, the reigning Paralympic champions, return after not competing in 2023.
Matches will be held at the Turnstone Center’s Plassman Athletic Center, one of 11 Paralympic training sites in the United States. The venue features international-standard courts and accessible facilities for athletes, officials and spectators.
The World Cup is a key qualification pathway to the 2026 WPV Sitting Volleyball World Championships, which will take place in Hangzhou, China, from 10 to 17 July 2026.
