
International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons visited the Makuhari Messe Hall A on Friday night to watch the women’s sitting volleyball match between Brazil and Canada in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The IPC president was in for a treat as he witnessed the best match of the opening day of sitting volleyball, with Brazil prevailing 17-15 in the fifth set of the tightly contested match. The down-to-the-wire 3-2 (21-25, 26-24, 25-20, 27-29, 17-15) match went for 2h 52min, with some prolific scoring performances from players of both teams.
Sitting volleyball had the honour of the presence of the IPC President who is a great supporter in the development of the sport of Para volley. President Parsons strengthened the relationship with sitting volleyball and has supported World ParaVolley by making it a fan-favourite at the Paralympic Games.
