Four expert-led sessions will bring the global sitting volleyball community together this November and December for World ParaVolley’s latest coach development webinar series.
World ParaVolley is pleased to announce 4ward Together, a new four-session webinar series bringing together coaches and specialists from across the international sitting volleyball community to share knowledge, practical experience and ideas for developing the game.
Running from 15 November to 6 December, the series is primarily aimed at sitting volleyball coaches but is open to anyone interested in learning more about the sport.
Across four consecutive weeks, 4ward Together will explore the pathway from grassroots development to elite performance, the growing role of technology in coaching, an innovative school-based sitting volleyball programme, and how performance analysis can turn numbers and observations into meaningful decisions.
All four sessions will begin at 19:00 UTC/UK time.
15 November – Leading the elite and growing the future
Dr Mosaad Elaiuty (EGY)
The series opens with sitting volleyball coach Dr Mosaad Elaiuty, who will explore how the sport can be developed from grassroots participation through to world-class performance.
The session will look at promoting sitting volleyball’s inclusive and exciting appeal, establishing accessible local programmes, identifying and developing talent, and strengthening partnerships with schools, rehabilitation centres, national federations and Paralympic committees.
Elaiuty will also explore specialised coach education, elite leadership and team culture, including how high-performance athletes can become mentors and ambassadors who inspire the next generation and contribute to a sustainable future for the sport.
22 November – Enhancing Performance through Technology
Greg Walker (USA)
Technology is playing an increasingly important role in athlete and team development, and the second 4ward Together session will examine how coaches can make it work for them.
Greg Walker will explore the use of video analysis, performance data and digital tools across training, athlete development, tactical preparation and match analysis.
The session will focus on practical applications, showing how technology can help coaches understand player strengths, identify areas for improvement, refine team strategies and make more informed decisions – whether working at grassroots, club or international level.
29 November – Let’s Volley with Lidl
Lena Gabršček (SLO)
The third webinar turns the spotlight on grassroots development and an innovative Slovenian project using sitting volleyball to promote physical activity, inclusion and awareness of Para sport among young people.
Lena Gabršček will introduce Project ODBITO (Let’s Volley), an inclusive school-based initiative developed by the Paralympic Committee of Slovenia in partnership with Lidl Slovenija.
The programme introduces primary school students to sitting volleyball through practical sessions delivered by PE teachers and national team athletes, before culminating in an annual tournament.
Gabršček will share how the project was built, how partnerships have supported its development and the impact it continues to have on Para sport across Slovenia – offering ideas that could inspire similar initiatives elsewhere.
6 December – Beyond the Numbers and Stats
Nadine Plett (CAN) and Sydnie Mabry (USA)
Team Performance Analysts
The final session of 4ward Together will go behind the numbers to examine how performance analysis can provide coaches with meaningful information that influences decisions and match outcomes.
International sitting volleyball Team Performance Analysts Nadine Plett and Sydnie Mabry will explore the use of paper and video analysis, data interpretation and tactical observation to identify patterns, evaluate individual and team performance, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
The webinar will also examine the relationship between coaches and analysts, demonstrating how raw information can be transformed into actionable strategies that support athlete development and provide a competitive advantage at international level.
Four weeks of learning and collaboration
Building on World ParaVolley’s previous webinar initiatives, 4ward Together continues WPV’s commitment to creating accessible opportunities for coaches around the world to learn from one another and from specialists working across different areas of the sport.
The sessions are aimed particularly at coaches, but players, team staff, students, administrators and anyone interested in sitting volleyball development are also welcome to participate.
WPV-qualified coaches can access each live webinar free of charge, including the opportunity to participate in the Q&A.
Non-qualified coaches and other participants can join each live webinar and participate in the Q&A for €6 per session.
