Exciting matches are lined up on Day 7, featuring the men’s semifinals and classification matches. Only three teams from the Rio 2016 medal matches made it to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games sitting volleyball semifinals, with Olympic champions Iran and silver medallists Bosnia and Herzegovina having an early face-off before the finale.
Wednesday’s order of matches starts with an all-Asian clash between hosts Japan and China for the 7th-8th classification at 13.30 local time. The second match feature hard-hitting squads Egypt and Germany in the battle for fifth place at 15.30.
In the evening, European champions RPC will take on Brazil in the first semifinal match at 18.30. The Brazilians are looking to improve on their fourth-place finish in their home Games in Rio five years ago and will face RPC, the team that stunned bronze medallists Egypt and runners-up Bosnia and Herzegovina in the preliminary round.
As a result of this loss to RPC, Bosnia and Herzegovina took second place in their pool and were forced to face their Rio 2016 rivals Iran in the Tokyo 2020 final four, marking the end of their Paralympic Games final rivalry. The much-anticipated matchup between these two powerhouse teams will be at 20.30.
