Tokyo 2020 Day 4 preview: USA and China set to revive rivalry at Tokyo 2020 preliminaries

Day 4 of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games sitting volleyball competition continues and presents exciting matches in the men’s and women’s preliminaries.

The main highlights are the matches between China and the United States, and Iran and Brazil in the men’s and women’s events, respectively.

The matchup between favourites China and USA is a replay of the Rio 2016 final which promises to be a fantastic encounter, which could possibly be an early preview of the Tokyo 2020 medal match, based on the results so far.
In the other women’s match, RPC will face Rwanda to seek their first win, the former counting on their advantage in experience.

In the men’s competition, the match of Iran and Brazil is likely an explosive clash, which will decide the leadership in Pool B.

Brazil are still on a high with their four-set win over China on Saturday. Captain Fabricio da Silva Pinto is thrilled to be back with his teammates after not having the opportunity to play in any matches during the pandemic. He is amazed with the warm reception and the high level of organization by the Japanese hosts.

Meanwhile, Germany and China are seeking their first win in the tournament and will go head to head in the other men’s match for a chance to go to the semifinals.
