Sitting Volleyball confirmed for 2019 Pajulahti Games

Sitting Volleyball will once again take centre stage at the 2019 Pajulahti Games in Lahti, Finland which will be held in the Pajulahti Paralympic Training Center from 17-20 January.

The ninth edition of the annual event will consist of at least seven sports with Sitting Volleyball being joined by goalball, showdown, athletics, judo, powerlifting and floorball. Special Olympics floorball tournament is a newcomer for the Games.

The organisers are currently also considering an option to arrange a Special Olympics alpine skiing competition as part of the Games.

The Sitting Volleyball tournament will be for women’s national teams and take place from 18–20 January.

The 2018 edition saw Russia win both the A and B tournaments ahead of the Netherlands and Finland, six months before going on to win the 2018 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball Women’s World Championship in the Netherlands.
