Ngengiyumva to lead Rwanda in Tokyo 2020

Jean Marie Vianney Nsengiyumva was appointed as the new head coach of three-time African champions Rwanda women’s sitting volleyball team ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He replaced Egyptian coach Mossad Rashad who held the position since 2019.

With Rwanda’s preparations for Tokyo 2020 set to take off in March, Nsengiyumva looks into leading the team to its first Paralympic podium finish. Nsengyumva’s volleyball resume includes mentoring Rwanda’s U20 and U17 national teams, as well as the Kigali Volleyball club.

The reigning African champions will play in their second Paralympic Games are hoping to improve their eighth-place finish since making their Paralympic debut at Rio 2016.
