Bangkok, Thailand, June 14, 2019 – Iran are on course to defend their ParaVolley Asia Oceania Sitting Volleyball Championship title, following the completion of their sweep of the preliminary round at Huamark Stadium on Friday.
Iran kept their unbeaten run in six matches, following their 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-12) triumph against Korea to reach the men’s final of the biennial tournament.
Iran showed up determined, focused and committed to overwhelm their rivals, as they pounded on every opportunity to score and gain an early advantage. Their quickness on defence set up more opportunities for the counter-attack, which kept the Koreans from making a series of scoring runs.
Iran collected a lot of points from their strong spikes that built them a huge lead in the third set. The Koreans managed to put their single-digit score up from better execution of defence. They succeeded on that part and surpassed the 10-point mark, but the Iranians already had strong grasp to conclude the match at 25-12.
