Bangkok, Thailand, June 12, 2019 – Iran made short work of Kazakhstan, as the defending champions logged a 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-17) win to earn their fourth straight win in the men’s tournament of the 2019 ParaVolley Asia Oceania Sitting Volleyball Championships at Huamark Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
Iran came up with a strong drive to get their frontline involved on the outset to mount a big lead against their counterparts. Bolstered by an impressive attacking game, the Iranians then worked with a tightened defence, forcing the other side to concede the opening set 25-13.
Iran started finding the scenes in their opponents’ defence and converted points on key spikes, allowing them to mount a huge lead in the second set. Iran still put up tough defence at the net that were key to the final two points that secured the set in their favour 25-14.
Kazakhstan played with a better serve and attack tactic that allowed them to trail closely in the third set. However, Iran came up with an adjustment to overcome the Kazakh run. With a couple of strong spikes from their frontline, Iran seized set and match at 25-17.
