Bangkok, Thailand, June 15, 2019 – Cambodia concluded their first ParaVolley Asia Oceania Sitting Volleyball Championship on a high note with a fifth place finish, following their victory over hosts Thailand at the Huamark Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
Cambodia recorded a straight-set (25-22, 25-21, 25-20) win over Thailand, finishing with a total of three wins in seven matches on their tournament debut.
Cambodia also faced Thailand on the final day of the preliminary round. The Cambodians posted a four-set triumph against the Thais on Friday night.
In their next meeting, the Cambodians showed mastery over their opponents’ moves and stayed vigilant to gain decent margins in their first two set encounters with the Thais. In the third set, Cambodia rallied to beat the home team, placing their attacks on the open court. Finally, Tong Ravy’s tip down the middle sealed Cambodia’s straight-set win at 25-20.
