World ParaVolley Receives Agitos Grant

World ParaVolley Receives Agitos Grant

November 25th, 2019

The Agitos Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2019-2020 Grant Support Program, and World ParaVolley is happy to share the news that we have been fortunate again to have been awarded a grant.

World ParaVolley has previously received funds from the Agitos Foundation Grant Support Program, and with these funds has run very successful ParaVolley development programs in the Americas, Asia-Oceania and Africa zones.

The 2019-2020 grant will be used to support sitting volleyball activities this time in the European zone.  Branko Mihorko, President of ParaVolley Europe, is delighted with the news: “Sitting volleyball is developing quickly in Europe. The Agitos grant will allow us to meet this growth as well as the increasing needs of the athletes and teams as we move forward in supporting all levels of development and in supporting ParaVolley Europe’s new competition structure.”

The funds will be used to support much-needed personnel development in the Zone.  Courses for classifiers, referees, and international technical officials will be delivered at the ParaVolley Europe Division B Championships Tournament in June 2020, which will be held in Slovenia and hosted by NPC Slovenia.

World ParaVolley and ParaVolley Europe have already begun discussing the courses program, and will release further information about courses registration, costs and timelines as details emerge.
