Just like the women’s final the day before, it was packed house at the Riocentro Pavilion 6 for the men’s Sitting Volleyball gold medal match at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Olympic Games between Iran and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
It was the final match for the men’s tournament and Iran and Bosnia & Herzegovina faced each other again as the top two teams in the world. This was the fifth gold medal match that they were contesting in the Paralympics.
The reigning Paralympic champions, Bosnia & Herzegovina, looked to defend their title at all costs however just like the 2018 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands earlier this year, it was Iran who would prevail in sensational style.
