The World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball 40 years 1980-2020: commemorative booklet (e-ISBN: 978-952-94-4074-0) is available to download for free on the new history section of the World ParaVolley website. The commemorative booklet was officially launched during the Virtual General Assembly on December 6, 2020.
“The Sitting Volleyball Commemorative Booklet has been carefully compiled by World ParaVolley Chief Historian, Dr. Kwok Ng, and illustrates the history of the sport from the 1940s to the present day with focus on the incredible 40 years of participation in the Paralympic Games,” said WPV President Barry Couzner OAM.
“It is an amazing historical record of sitting volleyball and rightly acknowledges the past that has led us to the present. But it does not stop there – two articles take a look at the predicted future. I recommend it to all of the World ParaVolley family.”
“Creating the booklet has brought individuals from the beginning of the sport through to today’s fast-paced game. The history made had been chronicled and shared through this commemorative booklet,” Chief Historian Dr. Kwok Ng said.
Visitors can download the pdf for free and use the content through a creative commons license. This was made possible by the Hangzhou Development Centre, Molten, Gerflor, QH Sports and Senoh, which sponsored the booklet. National federations and other selected outlets will be receiving printed version shortly.
