The International Paralympic Committee has chosen the Rwandan Women’s Sitting Volleyball Team’s qualification for the Rio2016 Paralympic Games as the #3 moment on their Top 50 Moments of 2015!
Rwanda defeated Egypt in the final match of the 2015 ParaVolley Africa Women’s Sitting Volleyball Championships in July, securing their spot for Rio2016. Not only is this the first time the Rwandan women have qualified for a Paralympic Games, but it is the first time that ANY women’s sitting volleyball team will be representing the African continent at the Games!
To say that this is a story of success is an understatement!
Congratulations to the athletes, the coaches, and all those behind the scenes who have made this path possible for this remarkable group of women! Well done!!!
