Expressions of Interest to support Sitting Volleyball and Beach ParaVolley

The World ParaVolley Sport Department is seeking Expressions of Interests (EOIs) for people with a passion for ParaVolley to assist the Sport Department in developing the technical operations and delivery of our key disciplines of Sitting Volleyball and Beach ParaVolley.

These volunteer roles will work closely with the Sport Director, the Assistant Sport Directors for Sitting Volleyball and Beach ParaVolley and the Commissions and Committees within the Sport Department including the Technical Commission, the Referee Commission, the Beach ParaVolley Commission, the Sitting Volleyball Rules of the Game Committee and the Beach ParaVolley Rules of the Game Committee.

The Sport Department is responsible for:

  • Defining and maintaining the technical requirements of our disciplines and the people who enable the delivery of our events including our Technical Delegates and Jury Members;
  • Supporting the development of the rules of the game and people who enable the delivery of our disciplines including our Referee Delegates, Referee Coaches, and Referees;
  • Support the delivery of events by managing the bid hosting and contracting processes and the subsequent management of entries, competition formats.

We are calling on people with skills in:

  • Technical aspects of volleyball, beach volleyball, sitting volleyball and beach paravolley to ensure that we have the best environment to showcase our athletes;
  • Training and development of technical officials and refereeing officials to ensure our pathways and processes are effective at providing a pipeline of officials who can support our events;
  • Administration to ensure that our processes and documentation are streamlined and managed to make participation in our events as straight forward as possible;
  • Looking for opportunities to promote our disciplines in the community as part of enhancing our presence in the Paralympic Community;
  • Manage and build our international competition calendar to provide confidence for our nations for at least the next 2 years of WPV competitions.

If you would like to assist World ParaVolley, please send a short EOI (no more than one page), and CV to sportdirector@worldparavolley.org that outlines:

  1. your experience, skills and background that you would bring to these roles,
  2. what challenges and opportunities you see for Sitting Volleyball and / or Beach ParaVolley, and
  3. what you hope to achieve by taking on one of these roles, and
  4. how much time you might be able to contribute – please note that you will need to be able to commit a couple of hours per week to be effective.

There are many areas to make a difference, so I would encourage you to provide your interest and ideas, whether it is in building documentation and materials, events management, training materials, IT systems, or officials development.

I would also encourage people from outside of the World ParaVolley family to consider applying for these roles, as you will bring new ideas from different sports or our sister disciplines of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.
