Volleyball Canada named its 13-player rosters for the upcoming ParaVolley Pan America Zonal Championships, scheduled from May 9 to 13 at Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada.
The tournament will grant two Paris 2024 Paralympic Games spots for the winner of the men’s competition and the highest placed non-qualified women’s team – either Canada or the United States – as Brazil have already qualified as the world champions.
The Canadian and USA women finished second and third, respectively, in the 2022 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Championships in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Canadian men’s team, who finished 11th overall in Sarajevo, will face 2022 World Championship bronze medallists Brazil, World No. 8 USA and newcomers Argentina.
