Juergen Schrapp was elected into the President role during the World ParaVolley (WPV) General Assembly in December 2024. This was right after he finished his successful athlete career at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. As an athlete he experienced 30 years of Paravolleyball, started with Indoor Standing Volleyball and then switched to Sitting Volleyball. Juergen competed in seven Paralympics, many World and European Championships, crowning his career with the bronze medal at the London 2012 Paralympic games. Over this period he saw the Paralympic and the World Paravolley movement changing a lot and growing constantly. And now after the end of his athlete career he wants to help shape and grow the Paralympic movement.
In parallel to his sports career Juergen has a successful career in the Health Care industry acting in various management roles in Strategic Procurement. Working in a global environment with teams from different cultural backgrounds makes him thrive.
