Grassroots Development aimed at new countries or regions

The activation programme helps new countries and territories start sitting volleyball and beach ParaVolley, and helps recently established members develop further. It works through a combination of partnerships, activators on the ground and activation grants.

“At World ParaVolley’s we’re passionate about introducing more people to the exciting, inclusive and life-changing opportunities of ParaVolley. Whether you’re a player, coach, volunteer or organisation, discover how you can get involved, inspire new participants and help grow our sports in communities around the world.  This page includes key information about our Activation programmes and the different support that we offer, however there is nothing better than direct contact so if you are looking for something in particular please do reach out.”

Anton Raimondo, WPV Development Director

Grant Funding

World ParaVolley invited applications for grants of up to €1,000 to support grassroots Sitting Volleyball development, receiving 21 applications from 19 countries across five continents in 2026. In response to the fantastic level of interest, €8,000 was awarded to eight projects, helping individuals and organisations turn their ideas into action. The Activation Funding programme aims to introduce more people to Sitting Volleyball, develop coaches and officials, recruit new players and strengthen local programmes, with a focus on creating sustainable opportunities that will help the sport grow long into the future.

Welome to ParaVolley

We’ve created a welcoming landing page for activators to use to to easily share the essential information about ParaVolley – both sitting volleyball and beach paravolley (standing).

The idea is that this provides people around the world with an useful webpage to share with new people – whether that is potential players, coaches or officials – so they can easily go and research our sports and find what information they need to become more integrated into ParaVolley.

Shown to the left are two digital business cards that everyone can save to their phone and then have easily available ready for those key first interactions and discussions.  Both QR codes lead directly here:
