World ParaVolley Scientific Research Commission
The World ParaVolley Scientific Research Commission has launched a search for Universities and Research Centers who are doing scientific and evidence based research in ParaVolley sport. Anyone who is currently involved in research related to any ParaVolley Sport Discipline (e.g., in sport physiology, psycho-social area, sport classification, performance analysis, or any other topic) or is interested in pursuing ParaVolley research is encouraged to contact Dr. Jolanta Marszalek, the Chair of the World ParaVolley Scientific Research Commission. List of Potential Research Topic Areas that the World ParaVolley Scientific Research Commission has identified:
- Injury recovery program/exercises
- Injury prevention program/exercises
- Physical fitness tests, optimization of players’ preparation to main sports events
- The main factors in sitting volleyball (determinants of sport performance)
- Classification testing (measurements, methods, etc.)
- Biomechanics analyses of movement, all skills in sitting volleyball
- Diet of sitting volleyball players
- Urological problems/urinary incontinence of sitting volleyball players
- Injuries and illnesses in sitting volleyball
Beach ParaVolley:
- Classification
- Biomechanics – analyses of movement
- Injuries and illnesses
- Recovery issues (focusing on the recovery in the afternoon after a morning match)
- Mobility on the sand, heat stress (playing in the sun)
- Mobility for lower limb prosthetics, prostheses on the sand – optimization for sand conditions
- Difference between hip knee & ankle kinetics and / or kinematics when moving on sand vs wood – especially moving forward, back, side to side and jumping / landing.
