
Phil has been heavily involved in parasport since 2001, where he was Volleyball Canada’s Manager of ParaVolley and Referee Programs until 2009. Through his career, Phil has also provided consulting services to various Canadian volleyball and multi-sport groups on multiple sport development projects. Phil has been Head of Delegation for Team Canada at numerous World and Zonal Championships in both Standing and Sitting Volleyball, and has represented Canada at multiple Summer and Winter Paralympic Games as part of the mission team.
Phil was a member of the WOVD Volleyball Development Commission from 2002-2008, was Sub-Chair (North America) of the Pan American Committee Volleyball for Disabled in 2008-2009, and became Secretary to PACVD in 2010. Phil achieved his Level 3 WPV Technical Official status in 2013, and has been Jury Member, Assistant TD, TD, and Media Delegate to Paralympic Games, and World ParaVolley and ParaVolley Pan America events since then.
Phil has been the General Manager of World ParaVolley since 2013, where he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Federation, including: member relations; international stakeholder relations; strategic planning; financial management; communications management; course leadership and management; Grants Committee chairmanship; providing support and guidance to the WPV Board of Directors, Commissions and Committees; supporting events, LOCs, and event personnel; and managing delivery of all high-level meetings and assemblies.
Prior to his involvement in sport management, Phil worked in the sport and cultural event planning industry.
