All eyes will be on Longwangtou Beach for the inaugural Beach ParaVolley World Series event, where hosts China and India are set for the historic first serve at the 2019 Pingtan Open on Thursday.
The World ParaVolley, in its bid to make Beach ParaVolley to be a Paralympic sport for the Los Angeles 2028 games, takes a big leap by staging the 2019 Pingtan Open from May 9-12 in Fuzhou, China where nine men’s teams and two women’s teams are set to take the spotlight and be part of ParaVolley history.
The four-day event will commence with the opening ceremony at 09:00 (GMT +8), followed by the men’s pool play matches starting at 09:40, while the women’s first match between China and USA will take place at 13:00.
Leading the Chinese men’s squad as captain is Wu Kia, who will be teaming up with Wei Fan and Ma Cong, while the Indian side is being headed by Datar Deewarta with teammates Abhishek Aluwala and Sahir Ali Mallick.
The Chinese women’s team is composed of Li Min, Xu Danshu and Chen Yalin, while the USA team comprise of Reagan Autum, Meredith Gross and Skye McDermott.
