2015 Beach World Championships Heating Up!

With 14 nations from all World ParaVolley zones having provisionally applied so far, the competition is really heating up for the tournament, which takes place from the 14th-18th July at the stunning Sztutowo Town Beach in Northern Poland. However, there is still time to register your interest to attend the first ever Beach Sitting and Standing Volleyball World Championships.

To find out more, please contact Phil Allen, General Manager – World ParaVolley, via email at generalmanager@worldparavolley.org.

This will be a significant event and one that World ParaVolley expects will be delivered by ATAK to the very highest standard. ATAK have previously delivered multiple European Championships in Sitting Volleyball and also hosted the 2014 Sitting Volleyball World Championships that featured 28 teams from every continent of the world. They offered fan parks for supporters to enjoy and employed the use of cutting edge technology in the form of drones with cameras to provide never before seen angles, so there is excitement to see what might be available this year.

Jacub Hryniewicz, the Secretary General of ATAK said “It is a great honour to create history for World ParaVolley by organising the first ever Beach Volleyball World Championships at Sztutowo. Poland has a great background in all disciplines of the sport of Volleyball and we are planning for a hugely successful event with the enthusiastic support of our many Volleyball fans”.

Barry Couzner, the President of World ParaVolley said “Following the firm foundation for Beach Volleyball being established back in 2011 in Malaysia by ParaVolley Asia/Oceania, it is fantastic to realize the inaugural World Championships with the assistance of ATAK who have a proud history of organizing world class events in the sport of Volleyball for athletes with a physical impairment. We anticipate the support of many member countries for the World Championships and see this event as the start of a long period of development of the Beach Volleyball disciplines for our athletes”.
